FTM Top Surgery in Texas
Texas has a long history of being a go-to state for Top Surgery due in part to the consistent results from the surgeons at the American Institute for Plastic Surgery in Plano, Dr. Alan Dulin, Dr. Scott Harris and Dr. Peter Raphael, as well as Dr. Gary Lawton in San Antonio, all of whom have been performing Top Surgery for more than 15 years. The arrival of Dr. Curtis Crane in Austin in 2016, later joined by Dr. Ashley DeLeon and Dr. Gerhard Mundinger brought even more Top Surgery expertise to Texas. Dr. Dustin Reid started offering Top Surgery at his LGBT-friendly practice in Austin, and the University of Texas at Houston—the first academic institution in Texas to have a gender surgery program—now offers Top Surgery with Dr. Daniel Freet.
Medicaid: Unfortunately, Texas has an explicit policy that bans transhealth coverage in Medicaid.
