Dr. Steven Ovadia, MD, is a board-certified plastic surgeon who performs Top Surgery in New York City and New Jersey. Fellowship trained in Complex Gender Surgery and Microsurgery at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Ovadia offers the major Top Surgery techniques, including double incision, keyhole, peri-areolar, inverted-T, and buttonhole surgery. Following his fellowship training in gender surgery, Dr. Ovadia served as Director of the Rutgers Center for Transgender Health at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where he helped lead a multidisciplinary program serving transgender patients.

Dr. Ovadia is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).

Top Surgery is planned according to the patient’s chest anatomy and goals, with several surgical techniques available, including sensory nerve preservation and drain-free techniques. The choice of technique depends on factors such as chest size, skin elasticity, nipple position, and the amount of tissue being removed. Dr. Ovadia will work with you to develop an individualized surgical plan during your consultation.

Dr. Ovadia offers in-person, virtual, and phone consultations at no charge. The typical wait for a consultation is 1–2 weeks, with surgery dates generally available in approximately 6 weeks.
