The cost of Top Surgery with Dr. Sigal begins at $12,050 (as of September 2025). This fee generally includes the surgeon’s fee, anesthesia, facility charges, recovery garments, and all pre- and post-operative visits. Exact costs depend on the surgical plan developed during consultation. Accepted payment methods include cash, check, credit card, and CareCredit financing. Insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare are not accepted for Top Surgery at this time.
Surgery Requirements
Before Top Surgery, patients may need medical clearance depending on their health history. Smoking cessation is required for at least one month prior to surgery, and patients must not be pregnant.
Dr. Sigal follows WPATH Standards of Care, which require one or more referral letters from a qualified mental health professional. These letters typically document gender dysphoria, psychosocial assessment, the duration of the therapeutic relationship, informed consent, and the clinician’s availability for care coordination.
Consultations
Dr. Sigal offers both virtual and in-person consultations. Each consultation includes a discussion of goals, review of technique options, assessment of chest anatomy, and an overview of the recovery process. The consultation fee is $100 and is applied toward the cost of surgery. Typical wait times are 3–6 weeks for a consultation and approximately 4–8 weeks from consultation to surgery, depending on scheduling and patient readiness.
