Top Surgery in Colorado
Colorado has become a national leader in transgender healthcare. In 2021, it became the first state to require that individual and small-group health insurance plans cover gender-affirming care—including Top Surgery—when deemed medically necessary. Then, in April 2023, Governor Jared Polis signed legislation safeguarding access to gender-affirming procedures and medications, protecting both Coloradans and out-of-state patients from prosecution. Colorado Medicaid also covers gender-affirming treatments.
